Journal Acta Musei Moraviae – Scientiae geologicae publishes original scientific papers from miscellaneous fields of geological sciences (geology, petrology, mineralogy, geochemistry, tectonics, geophysics, paleontology, in lesser amount also speleology and geomorphology), studying problems related to the geological units occurring in the Bohemian Massif and Carpathian orogen (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Poland, Germany). Any author who is concerned about the suitability of the subject of their paper should contact the Editor for advice.

Submission

Papers should be submitted to Dr. Eva Víšková, Dept. Mineralogy and Petrography, Moravian Museum, Zelný trh 6, 659 37 Brno, to the e-mail address: eviskova@mzm.cz.

Submission deadlines for individual issues are January 31 and July 31.

Language

Manuscripts in the Czech, Slovak, English, German and French language can be accepted.

Format

Submit your manuscripts by e-mail of the editor, in MS Word format, with tables and figures (including figure captions) placed at the end of the text. Manuscripts must be typed with double spacing throughout in a size comparable to Times Roman 12. All pages must be numbered.

Each manuscript must contain title page with English abstract, formatted as following example:

Literature should be cited in the text in following format: (Zeman 1998), after Zeman and Dvořák (1999), and Zeman et al. (2000).

List of literature in alphabetical order should be placed at the end of the text, using following format:

Figures and tables

Figures should be submitted in adequate quality, preferred area-fillings are black and white shading and grayscale. Figures should be submitted in electronic form (JPG, TIFF, GIF, BMP, EMF, EPS, Corel Draw). Figures should be readable in their print size (printable area is 19.5 × 12.5 cm).

Number of tables and figures must be adequate to the extent of the manuscript. Figure and table captions must be provided on the page with the respective tables and figures, in the language of the manuscript, and in English. Figures in color are printed free of charge; large number of figures in color can be printed only after consultation with editor.

Peer-review and publication process

Authors are recommended to review the journal’s publication ethics and malpractice statement.

Manuscripts are reviewed by external referees. Referees are chosen from institutions different from those of manuscript authors, and non-members of the journal Editorial Board.

The decision regarding acceptance or rejection of a manuscript is the responsibility of the Editor and is based in large part on the recommendations of reviewers and Editorial Board.

Final version of the manuscript (after review procedure) is accepted only in electronic form, text in format MS Word, figures as separate files, tables in MS Word or MS Excel. During the final adjustments of the manuscript for print, do not hesitate to contact the editor for consultation.

Authors publishing in Acta Musei Moraviae, Scientiae Geologicae are transferring their author rights to the publisher.
