Abstract:

Scleractinia from a new locality Borač-Podolí (southern part of the Carpathian Foredeep, Czech Republic)

In this contribution findings of Lower Badenian Scleractinian corals from a new-found locality Borač-Podolí (GPS position: N 49°24.10928′, E 16°22.03950′) are presented. Locality Borač-Podolí is located about 7 km northeast of the town Tišnov and is a part of the Carpathian Foredeep in South Moravia. During the study 458 coral specimens were determined from this locality. Studied specimens belong to 5 families: Caryophyllidae, Dendrophylliidae, Poritidae, Faviidae a Stylophoridae (6 genera: Peponocyathus, Balanophyllia, Tarbellastraea, Montastraea, Porites and Stylophora).
