Abstract:

Mineral assemblages with berthierite in base-metal ores at Jitkov near Česká Bělá (Havlíčkův Brod ore district), Moldanubicum

Silver-rich base-metal veins near Česká Bělá (Havlíčkův Brod ore district) were exploited in the Middle Ages. Fragments of ore-bearing quartz vein were found in abandoned dumps at Jitkov. Arsenopyrite and pyrite among ore minerals predominated. Minor needle-like berthierite, rare jamesonite and Ag-tetrahedrite are very typical, confirming the presence of Sb in ore-forming fluids.
