Abstract:

Osteology and anatomy of the Oligocene species Scopeloides glarisianus (Ag.) (Teleostei, family Gonostomatidae)

Osteology and anatomy of the Oligocene species Scopeloides glarisianus (Ag.) was made more precise and completed. The comparative anatomy of this fossil species and of Gonostoma elongatum Gunter was examined. These two nominal species are in reality very near and it seems, that the genus Scopeloides glarisianus could be assigned to this recent genus. The formula of the species Scopeloides glarisianus was completed: Vert, 38-39 (17+22); D = 14-15; A = 27; P = 11-12; V = 8-9.

Photophores: IP = S; PV = 9-10; IV = 14-15; VAV = 4-5; AC = 20; IC = 40.
