Abstract:

Fish fauna of the Menilitic Formation (Middle Oligocene) from the new locality Rysova hora (Rožnov pod Radhoštěm)

The following taxons were identified from the new locality Rysova hora (Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, East Moravia, Flysch Belt, Menilitic Formation): Cetorhinus parvus LERICHE, Clupea sardinites (HECKEL), Glossanodon musceli (PAUCA), Diaphus moravicus (PAUCA), Palaeogadus simionescui DANILTSHENKO, Anenchelum glarisianum BLAJNVILLE, Serranus sp. The spectrum of fish species corresponds to the zone IPM 2 of Kotlarczyk a Jerzmanska (1976). Diaphus moravicus (PAUCA) found on the surface near the profile supports the presence of the zone IPM I in the underlaying sediments.
