Abstract:

Fish fauna of the Menilitic Formation at a new locality of Cetechovice

Fossil fish remnants were recorded for the first time in the Dynów Marlstone of the Menilitic Formation at the Cetechovice vicinity. The material consists of fragmentary and also complete specimens. Following taxa were identified: Keasius parvus (LERICHE, 1908), Scopeloides glarisianus (AGASSIZ, 1844), Sardinella sardinites (HECKEL, 1850), Oligophus moravicus (PAUCĂ, 1931), Palimphyes sp. and Anenchelum glarisianum BLAINVILLE, 1818. This is a typical assemblage for the lower part of the Dynów Marlstone at other Moravian localities such as Litenčice, Mouchnice, Nikolčice, Křepice, Kelč, etc.
