A brief outline of the history of palaeontological investigations in the Permo-Carboniferous of the Boskovice Forrouw (Moravia) and perspectives of the protection of existing localities

A brief outline of palaeontological investigations is given is this contribution. Several localities of the Boskovice Furrow have been very important in the 19th century, when the first palaeontological investigations were executed. These localities are only of the historical significance in present times. The extant localities in the Boskovice Furrow represent the unique records of our natural riches. However, many 1ocalities are systematically exploited by amateur collectors for commercial purposes which concerns especially the world-famous unique assemblages of the Permo-Carboniferous vertebrates. Our monitoring of some significant localities (in the course of the three years) confirmed the importance of the effective protection of such localities.
