Abstrakt:

Strontianite from the by-pass road of town Příbor (Moravia, Czech Republic)

During the construction of by-pass road of town Příbor were uncovered several bodies of igneous rocks of the teschenite association (altered picrites and teschenites). According to assemblages of dinoflagellates with Cerbia tabulata, Odontochitina operculata, Oligosphaeridium perforatum, and Muderongia staurota the pelites eclosing volcanic bodies the sediments belongs to the Hradiště Formation of Silesian Unit of the Outer Western Carpathians, specifically to the Barremian. In the northernmost body of picrite and its sedimentary cover was discovered calcite+quartz vein mineralization with macroscopic strontianite. This Ca-rich strontianite is according to our opinion not a product of picrite alteration, but rather belongs to post-volcvanic (and post-tectonic) hydrothermal mineralization.
